Urology is the branch of medicine that focuses on surgical and medical diseases of the male and female urinary-tract system and the male reproductive organs. The urinary system eliminates waste from the body, regulates blood volume and blood pressure, and controls levels of electrolytes An urologist deals with problems affecting the kidneys, ureters, bladder, urethra, as well as the adrenal glands for conditions such as urinary tract infections, kidney stones, stress incontinence and bladder cancer. The specialist also looks after the male reproductive system and its organs, including the prostate, testes, epididymis, prostate, penis, vas deferens, and seminal vesicles and treats bladder, renal, prostate and testicular cancers. A common prostate disorder is Benign Prostatic Hyperplaysia (BPH) that shares similar symptoms to prostate cancer.
